The Shura Council to Compose its Committees Next Week and Discusses the Anti-Discrimination and Hate and Bribery laws

The Shura Council will start its 64th ordinary session next Monday by announcing the composition of the specialized committees of the Council and its members, and naming the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of each committee for the second year of the seventh term.

The Council will also discuss the report of the Committee on Islamic and Judicial Affairs on the proposed Anti-discrimination and Hate Speech Law submitted by a number of Council members (former and current), based on Article 23 of the Council's Law.

During this session, the Council votes on recommendations of the Administration and Human Resources Committee requesting the Public Pension Agency to cooperate with government agencies to expedite the completion of the replenishment of its database with respect to individual accounts of civilian and military personnel, and the establishment of a mechanism to ensure the payment of pension contributions (deductibles and corresponding quotas) to the institution on a monthly basis, with emphasis on the fast payment of arrears of pension contributions and other financial entitlements of the institution to the Treasury.

The Council will also vote on the recommendations of the Committee on Transport, Communications and Information Technology, which calls on the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to develop an implementation plan and performance indicators to transform the ICT sector into a national productive industry and Saudi cadres within a specified period of time, and study the separation of the Saudi Post Corporation from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

Also, the Council will discuss the report of the Security Affairs Committee on the request for approval of the appropriateness of studying the proposal to add a new article of the Civil Defense law on punishing the reckless in times of harsh climatic conditions.

At the same session, the Council will discuss the report of the Committee on Social Affairs, Family and Youth on the annual report of the Social Development Bank.

Among the most prominent topics on the agenda of this session is the report of the Education and Scientific Research Committee on the annual report of the Education Assessment Authority, and the report of the Committee on Economy and Energy on the annual report of the Saudi Industrial Development Fund.

At its 66th Ordinary Session on Wednesday, the Council will discuss the report of the Security Affairs Committee on the proposal to amend the Anti-Bribery Law.

The Council also votes on the recommendations of the Committee on Transport, Communications and Information Technology that requests the Saudi Postal Corporation, as a postal service provider, to provide the necessary services to support e-commerce, to develop and diversify its postal services to the commercial and financial sectors and provide special services to citizens abroad, and to deliver documents and remittances quickly and reliably.

This comes after the Council hears the views of the Committee on Transport, Communications and Information Technology regarding the members' opinions and views towards the Saudi Post Corporation's annual report.

The Council will also discuss the report of the Committee on Social Affairs, Family and Youth on the annual report of the General Authority for Sport.

Among the most prominent topics on the agenda of this session is the report of the Commission on Human Rights and the Control Bodies on the annual report of the General Auditing Bureau and the report of the Committee on Economy and Energy on the annual report of the Ministry of Trade and Investment.

The agenda of the Council at its three sessions includes a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding between the Kingdom and a number of brotherly and friendly countries in various fields.
