Assistant-Speaker of the Shura Council opens the joint meeting of the working group to activate the memorandum of understanding with the Bar Association.

His Excellency the Assistant Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Yahya bin Abdullah Al-Sama'an inaugurated today the first meeting of the working group to activate the memorandum of understanding between the Shura Council and the Saudi Lawyers Association.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency stressed the importance of continuing communication and cooperation between the Council and the Authority, pointing out the importance of opening a communication channel between the Bar Association and the Council to exchange views on the development of the legislative (organizational) law in the Kingdom.

From his side, praised the member of the Saudi Lawyers Association, Dr. Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz al-Saqih, the cooperation between the parties, and exchange of legal and legislative advice in the work considered by the Council, and provide the Council with information and proposals that contribute to support and develop the legislative role exercised by the Council.

After that, the attendees heard a number of interventions by some members of the Council on legal and legislative issues and the adoption of proposals related to the development of the legislative environment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

His Excellency the Speaker of Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh and His Excellency the Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Board of Lawyers Dr. Waleed Al-Sama'ani signed the memorandum of cooperation on 20/5/1439 H. The memorandum aims at enhancing cooperation between the two parties and exchanging legal and legislative advice In the work considered by the Council, while providing the Council with the information and proposals that contribute to support and develop the legislative role exercised by the Council.

The memorandum provides for the cooperation between the two parties by taking advantage of the Commission's ability to hold panel discussions or workshops to discuss legal and legislative issues, as well as holding conferences related to the concerns of the Council. In addition, the two sides will cooperate in the field of preparing research, Scientific and publications issued by the two parties, with the establishment of a mechanism to support communication between them in the field of training of the staff of the Council, the establishment of common information bases, and provide lists of Saudi lawyers with expertise that may require the Council to conduct studies or provide consultant And work to keep up with the vision of 2030 to serve the Council's work.
