Shura Council Denounces US Senate's Position, Its False Accusations against KSA
17th December 2018
The Shura Council denounced the US Senate's position based on baseless allegations and accusations, its interference in Saudi domestic affairs and its distorting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's role at regional and international levels.
This came in a statement issued by the Shura Council in its ordinary session held today under the Chairmanship of the Speaker of the Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, and read by its Secretary General Mohammed bin Dakhel Al-Mutairi.
The Shura Council affirmed that the Saudi people categorically reject defaming their leaders, namely the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense or meddling in the Kingdom's sovereignty or status.
The Shura Council affirmed in its statement that the Kingdom's role in curbing the evils of terrorism is considered as one of the most important actions that helped the world to reduce the effects of this scourge at military level and in combating the financing of terrorist operations and eradicating its intellectual roots.
The Shura Council considered that the position of the US Senate does not reflect the role of Parliamentary Councils in enhancing friendly relations among countries, whether officially or popularly, stressing that the US internal policy's interactions cannot be an area to involve a very important country like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in them affecting the historical and strategic relations between the two friendly countries.
