Speaker of Shura Council Received Philippines' Counterpart

Speaker of Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh received Philippines' Speaker of the House of Representatives Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to the Kingdom, at the invitation of Shura's speaker.

At the outset, the speaker welcomed them, in the Kingdom, reiterating significance of reciprocal visits that would promote bilateral relations between the two countries, in all fields.

In addition, he briefed her and the delegation, on the workings of the Shura council, its mechanism and specialized committees and reviewed bilateral relations, especially, in the domain of parliamentary relations.

For her part, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo hailed the Kingdom stances, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, working to maintain regional security to stabilize the situation, in the Middle East.
